Emma Junsay Brooks

Emma Junsay Brooks, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, June 8, 2023, in Manassas, VA.

She was born on April 11, 1937, in Negros Occidental, Philippines to the late Tranquilion and Eufricina (Junsay) Casiple.

Our mother, Emma, was one of the strongest women to ever walk this earth and we were blessed to have her as the head of the family.  She dedicated her life to being a wonderful mother.  Emma raised and supported her children on her own through many passions and difficulties of their lives.  Her family’s needs always came first above her own, there was nothing she would not have done for them.  Even though money was tight she also supported family back home in the Philippines when she was able to.  Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family, feeding them, listening to them talk and laugh.

Mom really loved to play Rummy and go to BINGO.  We could never beat her at Rummy. ~ Mickey

Survivors include four children: Roberto Casiple (Susan), Gina Connelly (Shawn), Michael Brooks, and James Brooks (Pamela); one sister: Erlinda Pierce (Wayne) and six grandchildren: John Hickey, Jordan Brooks, Mason Brooks, Alyssa Casiple, Nicholas Brooks and Brianna Casiple.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Olde Towne Funeral Home, 9320 West Street, Manassas, VA and a prayer service will be held at 4:00pm.  Interment will be private.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Alzheimer’s Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Dr #400, McLean, VA 22102 in loving memory of Emma J. Brooks.
